Welcome Warriors, to our First Blog

Hello Class of '69 from your Reunion Committee. Welcome to our first blog. If you are new, welcome to our website as well.

Our goal is to bring you the best reunion experience of your life. Fifty years is a pretty big deal. Not only are we looking forward to seeing you at the reunion, we also invite you to be a part of our growing YV69 community by participating in our blog and our forum.

Why a blog? Why a forum? What's the difference? Here's what you need to know:

Our blog is an online newspaper or journal. It is written exclusively for you, the Ygnacio Valley Class of 1969.

In honor of our original school newspaper, The Smoke Signal, we have named our blog Smoke Signal 2.0.

As the editor of Smoke Signal 2.0 (and a former member of the original Smoke Signal staff), I will be the main writer (Blogger-in-chief). Guest bloggers are welcome, as are comments.

My intent is to focus on our shared history, memories of high school, and how the past 50 years have shaped and defined our lives.

The Warrior Forum, by contrast, is a chat room. It's all about conversation and sharing pictures. Anyone can begin a topic or post a picture. Think of Warrior Forum as a friendly place where Warriors go to chat, ask questions, sound off, or just hang out.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

You must become a member of the website and log in to have the ability to make comments or join the discussion. This is true for BOTH Smoke Signal 2.0 and Warrior Forum. If you would like to do a guest blog, please contact me directly, or make a comment on this post.

Our motto, as first stated by the always profound Guy Gettle, is this:

If we didn't know you then, we want to know you now. Please join us on this fun ride as we get to know each other a little better before we meet in October.
